About The Position

The Director, Human Resources serves as a strategic business partner to U.S. Head Office leadership, responsible for people strategies that enable business performance, organizational effectiveness, and a strong employee experience. This role leads HR initiatives across our head office functions and translates business strategy into scalable workforce, talent, and culture solutions. The Director provides thought leadership across talent, organizational design, employee relations, and leadership development, while ensuring compliance, governance, and alignment with Saputo’s values and long-term growth objectives.

Requirements

  • 6–10 years of progressive human resources experience, including senior-level business partnership and organizational leadership.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • Demonstrated experience advising and influencing senior leaders within a complex, multi-functional organization.
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. employment laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven ability to lead through change, balance strategic and operational priorities, and drive results through others.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and executive presence skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, proactively influencing business decisions through workforce insights, organizational diagnostics, and risk/opportunity assessments.
  • Partner with senior leadership to align people strategies with short- and long-term business priorities, including growth, transformation, and operating model evolution.
  • Lead change management efforts associated with organizational shifts, new initiatives, and enterprise programs.
  • Lead integrated talent strategies encompassing workforce planning, succession management, leadership development, engagement, and retention.
  • Lead functional talent management activities such as talent reviews, retention and exit insights, focus groups, and engagement assessments, translating data into actionable plans.
  • Champion leadership capability building to ensure a strong pipeline of future-ready leaders across head office functions.
  • Drive a consistent, inclusive, and high-performing employee experience across U.S. head office populations.
  • Provide strategic oversight and guidance on employee relations matters, investigations, and complex performance or conduct issues, ensuring fair and consistent outcomes.
  • Partner with legal counsel on employment relations, immigration, affirmative action, and risk mitigation.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, trust, and continuous improvement aligned to Saputo’s values.
  • Drive the effective use of HR technologies (LMS, performance management, time & attendance) to drive insights, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Leverage workforce and talent analytics to drive informed decision-making and measure the impact of HR initiatives.
  • Ensure consistent execution of HR programs while continuously identifying opportunities for simplification and process improvement.
  • Oversee learning and development strategies that support leadership effectiveness, career growth, and organizational capability.
  • Partner in decision making with respect to relocation and mobility activities, including immigration and vendor partnerships, to support business and talent needs.
