About The Position

Kali Hotel is seeking a dynamic, highly engaged Director of Operations to join its executive leadership team. This broad and visible role is responsible for the overall operational performance of the hotel and for creating a seamless, elevated guest experience. The Director of Operations will provide strategic and day-to-day leadership across Rooms, Food & Beverage, Culinary, and Security, collaborating with the General Manager and executive leadership to drive service excellence, financial performance, associate engagement, and operational consistency. This position is ideal for a seasoned hotel operator experienced in both luxury hospitality and the fast-paced environment of a contemporary lifestyle hotel.

Requirements

  • Significant leadership experience in a full-service, upscale or luxury hotel environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multiple hotel operating disciplines, including Rooms and Food & Beverage.
  • A background that blends luxury and lifestyle hotel operations; experience successfully operating in a contemporary, high-energy hotel environment is strongly preferred.
  • Marriott experience preferred, with a strong understanding of brand standards, operating disciplines and the Marriott guest experience.
  • Proven ability to lead through complexity, change and high-volume operating periods.
  • Strong financial acumen with demonstrated experience in forecasting, budgeting, labor management, productivity and departmental profitability.
  • Experience working in a unionized hotel environment preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Food & Beverage, including restaurants, bars, banquets and culinary operations.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • A hands-on, visible leadership style with the ability to move seamlessly between strategic thinking and operational execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate issues and opportunities before they arise and create plans to address them.
  • Ability to build trust with ownership, executive leadership, department heads, associates, guests and external partners.
  • A calm, solutions-oriented leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves.
  • You naturally think several steps ahead.
  • You understand the business well enough to anticipate what the hotel will need before anyone has to ask.
  • You see the entire guest journey, not just your individual departments.
  • You know when to get into the details and when to empower your leaders.
  • You bring the polish and discipline of luxury hospitality, but you're equally comfortable in a lifestyle environment where the hotel needs to feel current, relevant and connected to its community.
  • You're commercially minded, operationally rigorous and genuinely enjoy being around people.
  • You're the kind of leader who makes the entire team better and makes your General Manager's job easier because you're already thinking about what's next.
