Director, Growth Marketing

Nova Credit•New York, NY
•$195,000 - $222,300•Hybrid

About The Position

Nova Credit is hiring a Director, Growth Marketing to own brand and demand for its Rental Housing platform. The role’s central challenge is to create a market for cash flow underwriting and build awareness among property management decision-makers, prompting operators who already have access through their software to use Nova’s products and encouraging others to request them. The role’s focus is expected to be approximately three-quarters Nova-owned programs and one-quarter co-marketing with platform partners. It reports to the Head of Rental Housing and works with a growth team spanning partner enablement, events, and product marketing, as well as account management and new business teams. It is a hands-on individual-contributor position initially, with the opportunity to build a team as the program proves itself. The position is hybrid and full-time, based in the New York Metropolitan area, with three days per week in the office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. The listed U.S.-based annual compensation range is $195,000–$222,300, dependent on experience, skills, education, location, and qualifications. Compensation may also include equity grants, incentive compensation for eligible roles, professional development, flexible PTO, and tenure rewards. U.S.-based employees are offered employer-subsidized medical, dental, and vision plans, mental health and wellness benefits, and other benefits and perks.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of B2B marketing experience.
  • Significant experience in property management, proptech, multifamily, or rental housing; industry fluency is required.
  • A proven track record of creating a market for a new product or category and generating demand for something customers did not previously know they needed.
  • Experience building a marketable database and consistently running owned programs such as email, content, sponsored programs, and events with measurable results.
  • Strong follow-through, including working leads and reporting program results.
  • An existing network across operators, software platforms, industry media, and associations.
  • Strong storytelling and campaign instincts, including the ability to identify attention-getting ideas and turn data-driven content into campaigns people read and share.
  • Experience co-marketing with partners in markets where customers buy through platforms.
  • A hands-on, builder-oriented approach and comfort being the first dedicated marketer in a fast-moving business, tying marketing to adoption and revenue.

Responsibilities

  • Own the strategy for making cash flow underwriting a known and in-demand category, articulating the costs of credit-only screening in terms that resonate with the industry.
  • Develop ideas for original research and flagship content, often using Nova’s proprietary renter cash flow data; partner with product marketing to produce the content and lead campaigns that establish it as an industry reference.
  • Work with account management and new business teams to recruit early-adopter operators and turn their results into stories and proof points.
  • Run campaigns across Nova’s rental housing products, including income verification, eligibility determination, and cash flow underwriting; build Nova’s reputation in industry media and PR as an authority on fair, compliant screening.
  • Grow a clean, compliant, well-segmented database of property management decision-makers and engage it through email, newsletters, and nurture programs.
  • Run high-reach programs with industry media and associations and set the rental housing event strategy, including event selection and focus, with an events partner leading execution.
  • Build account-based programs for high-value operators and institutional portfolios, including REITs and PE-backed owners, showing how screening policy affects NOI, risk, and asset value.
  • Create demand on platforms where Nova’s products are not yet available.
  • Co-market with software partners through co-branded research, joint webinars, and campaigns reaching their customers.
  • Plan follow-up before each program launches, personally follow up with interested decision-makers alongside the Head of Rental Housing, report outcomes from awareness through adoption and revenue, set goals, and manage the budget.
  • Within the first 90 days, learn the products, partners, customers, and market; audit existing contacts, content, events, and programs; deliver a quick win using existing assets; and present a 12-month plan with an event calendar and goals for awareness, demand, database growth, and adoption.
  • Within the first year, run Nova-owned channels consistently with regular reporting, grow the database and product demand, help bring early-adopter operators live on cash flow underwriting and publish their results, establish cash flow underwriting as a recognized idea associated with Nova Credit, and generate demand on platforms where products are and are not yet available.
