About The Position

The Director of Finance is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial reporting functions within a manufacturing environment. This role provides strategic financial guidance, ensures accurate and timely reporting, and drives continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, and controls. The Finance Director partners closely with executive leadership to support operational decision-making and achievement of business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred (MBA or Master’s preferred)
  • 10–15+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, preferably in manufacturing
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills
  • Experience with ERP systems (LX preferred; CST, GLD, ACP, SFC, INV, PUR, API, SYS modules)
  • Proficiency with financial reporting tools (Query, F9, LX Report Writer)
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting practices
  • Experience with IFS and ADP/Workforce Now preferred
  • FoxPro and FAS experience a plus
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights
  • Proven track record of driving process improvement and operational efficiency
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a member of the leadership team, supporting strategic planning and execution of annual objectives
  • Lead financial reporting (monthly, quarterly, annual) and provide variance analysis and actionable insights
  • Oversee all accounting operations, including AR, AP, Fixed Assets, general ledger, and inventory valuation
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax requirements, and internal control standards
  • Direct budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning aligned with company strategy
  • Evaluate and enhance product costing methodologies to improve visibility and profitability
  • Manage treasury functions, including cash flow optimization and banking relationships
  • Partner with operations to drive cost management, margin improvement, and efficiency initiatives
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior leadership and, as applicable, Board or finance committees
  • Coordinate external audits and maintain strong relationships with auditors and financial partners
  • Oversee insurance coverage and support financial risk management practices
  • Support or oversee investment-related activities (e.g., 401k, corporate investments)
  • Lead continuous improvement of accounting processes, reporting capabilities, and operational efficiencies
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with global finance partners
