The Director of Developer Experience leads the enterprise approach to improving software delivery through AI-enabled practices and tools across IT. This hybrid role is based in Towson, Maryland; New Britain, Connecticut; or Charlotte, North Carolina. The director works with capability teams, which retain delivery ownership, to evaluate emerging technologies, validate practical applications, and establish reusable playbooks and standards across the software development lifecycle. The role owns the AI-powered SDLC tooling portfolio, including vendor relationships, licensing, cost management, and lifecycle decisions. It enables consistent, responsible adoption of tools and practices intended to improve developer experience, delivery effectiveness, and quality. The director partners with architecture, cybersecurity, privacy, and other control functions, while implementation and delivery accountability remains with capability teams. The role also leads a team focused on practical experimentation, shared enablement, tooling ownership, and continuous improvement. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience and at least 10 years of relevant technology experience, including at least five years leading teams or enterprise capabilities. Relevant certifications are a plus. The role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
