About The Position

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) provides integrated cloud services in a distributed, multi-tenant environment. The Identity and Access Management (IAM) team designs and builds core services for internal and external customers. This role leads engineering execution for the Identity Service, a critical OCI authentication data-plane service supporting the OCI Console and Identity Platform. Its capabilities include native authentication, federated identity providers, Single Sign-On (SSO), OpenID Connect (OIDC), OAuth2 flows, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and secure session management at Oracle Cloud scale. The Director will lead the development of a globally distributed service delivering highly available, secure, and scalable authentication experiences for millions of enterprise users. The role works closely with product management, architecture, cloud operations, security, and cross-functional engineering teams. It combines software engineering leadership, distributed-systems and platform-development expertise, Agile delivery, team mentoring, feature design, and tactical execution. The team’s major challenges include improving reliability and performance, scaling to traffic many orders of magnitude greater than current capacity, and designing systems that can withstand regional data-center outages. The role calls for operational excellence, proactive anomaly detection and root-cause analysis, sound tradeoffs, effective communication, and crisp execution. The position is based in the OCI India Development Center, as stated in the team leadership responsibilities.
