About The Position

This position provides leadership for the Center for Health and Well-being, which includes the Campus Health Center, Health Promotion, Victim Advocacy, and Violence Prevention programs. This role oversees strategic planning, operational management, staffing, and budget administration to ensure the effective delivery of high-quality healthcare, prevention, and wellness programs. This position ensures compliance with applicable state and federal regulations, university policies, and healthcare standards related to clinical services, student health requirements, and health information privacy. This role also provides oversight of healthcare billing operations and revenue cycle management to support the financial sustainability of clinical services. This position collaborates with campus partners, community organizations, and public health agencies to promote a comprehensive and coordinated approach to student health and well-being. This role also provides leadership in campus responses to public health concerns and emergencies.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in health care administration or related field.
  • Minimum five (5) years of related professional experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership and administrative abilities related to healthcare facilities, services, and settings.
  • Commitment to implementing best practices and policies to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Ability to administer department budgets and oversee health services contracts.
  • Ability to effectively train, supervise, and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel in a healthcare environment.
  • Ability to represent the University with external agencies including local public health departments and community health services.
  • Ability to manage public health crises.
  • Knowledge and skills to follow university, state, and federal laws, including HIPAA and other healthcare regulations.
  • Knowledge of healthcare billing systems, insurance claims processes, and revenue cycle management sufficient to supervise billing operations and ensure compliance with payer requirements.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and administrative oversight for the university’s on-campus healthcare facility and related health and well-being programs, ensuring high-quality healthcare services, prevention initiatives, and wellness programming for students.
  • Lead, train, supervise, and evaluate professional, clinical, administrative, and billing staff; ensure healthcare provider licensure and certifications remain current; support staff development; and assess the effectiveness of health programs and services.
  • Monitor and optimize financial and operational performance to align department services with student needs.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of systems, standards, programs, policies, and procedures guiding Center operations.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, analyze financial and utilization data, and ensure responsible stewardship of resources.
  • Oversee healthcare billing operations and revenue cycle processes, including insurance claims management, reimbursement monitoring, and coordination with billing personnel or vendors.
  • Authorize expenditures within approved limits and pursue external funding opportunities, including grants.
  • Monitor healthcare utilization, reimbursement trends, and financial performance of the Campus Health Center to inform operational and strategic decisions.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with campus departments, healthcare providers, and community organizations to support a comprehensive approach to student health and well-being.
  • Apply an equity-minded approach to develop strategic plans, goals, and measurable objectives that advance health equity and improve responsiveness to historically marginalized communities.
  • Ensure programs and services address student health concerns at individual, interpersonal, institutional, community, and public policy levels.
  • Direct the development, administration, and analysis of student health assessments and surveys to assess needs, evaluate interventions, and monitor student health trends.
  • Engage in professional networks and remain current on best practices in college health, public health, and student well-being to inform university initiatives and policies.
  • Oversee student health communications, including required state and federal notifications (e.g., bacterial meningitis awareness) and student health insurance enrollment processes.
  • Ensure compliance with student health policies and regulations, including immunization and insurance requirements, as well as applicable healthcare laws and privacy standards.
  • Lead and coordinate campus responses to public health concerns and emergencies, including infectious disease response, health communications, and coordination with public health authorities.
  • Serve on the Division of Student Affairs leadership team and campus committees to represent and advance student health and wellness initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as required/assigned by leadership.
