About The Position

This position provides sustained and visible campus leadership for holistic health and wellbeing. The Director will engage and collaborate with campus faculty and staff to link curricular and co-curricular experiences to the goals of the HealthEU initiative. This role involves coordinating with leaders of initiatives in each of the six dimensions of wellbeing described in HealthEU to track and share progress and to develop innovative collaborations that support research and understanding of best practices in advancing well-being. The Director will regularly assess and communicate the impact and effectiveness of HealthEU initiatives, and coordinate opportunities for faculty scholarship, creative work, and teaching to connect with HealthEU goals. This role will co-chair the university-wide HealthEU Council and assist with planning and development of an engaging, vibrant new campus facility for integrated health and wellness. The Director will coordinate activities and operations related to research on collegiate health and wellbeing, and co-supervise the Faculty Fellow for Wellness. Responsibilities include establishing collaborative goals for HealthEU initiatives and providing direct oversight for budgets, priorities, and plans for collaborative strategies that advance those goals. The Director will serve as a clearinghouse for resources, education, and collaborative programming related to health and wellbeing. Additional duties include participating in university events, celebrations, and traditions, and serving on university, divisional, or departmental committees, task forces, and search committees, as assigned by the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Requirements

  • Requires a PhD in Sports Medicine, Health Science, Medicine, or field related to health, well-being, and/or college student wellness (U.S. equivalent).
  • Five (5) years of experience evidencing demonstrable ability to perform the stated job duties.
  • 10% domestic and international travel to unanticipated locations is required to attend and present at conferences.
  • New hires subject to drug and background checks.
