This position supervises the creation, provision, and coordination of population-level interventions, group programs, risk management programs, trainings, social marketing/social norms campaigns, screening and awareness events. These programs focus on topics such as alcohol and other drug use, suicide prevention, sexual assault, domestic violence, and other well-being issues. The role involves preparing and overseeing the implementation of well-being education and healthy living and learning opportunities to foster a wellness-focused environment that supports academic and personal success for Colorado State University Pueblo students. This includes purchasing items for programming, managing spending, and reconciling accounts in KUALI. The position also conducts and analyzes the institution’s biennial review for the Drug Free Schools and Communities Act (DFSCA), establishes and maintains a sustainable peer mentor/educator program, and collaborates with other Student Affairs professionals to enhance the student experience. Programming standards are maintained to ensure compliance with campus designations such as JED Campus, Healthy Minds Campus, Coalition of Colorado Campus Alcohol & Drug Educators (CADE) Campus, and Okanagan Charter Campus Adopter. Additionally, the role provides alcohol and drug assessments for students, administers and interprets relevant instruments, makes appropriate referrals, and conducts/supervises early education and intervention activities for at-risk students. Needs assessments, research, and surveys in well-being dimensions are conducted as needed. The position also trains the Colorado State University Campus in Mental Health First Aid, QPR, bystander intervention, Certified Peer Educator Certification, and other relevant trainings to support campus suicide and prevention strategies. Ancillary duties include attending professional conferences, engaging in professional development, and attending department and division meetings and trainings.
