About The Position

The Director of Account Management will play a crucial role in driving the success of Cymax Group Technologies' vendor partnerships and overall business growth. This role owns the performance, relationships, and outcomes of the vendor portfolio. The Director will be responsible for overseeing the account management team, developing strategic initiatives, and ensuring the successful execution of vendor management processes. The ideal candidate is both a relationship leader and an operator with strong leadership skills, a proven track record in account management, and a passion for driving results. They should thrive in high-demand environments, effectively manage competing priorities, and focus on initiatives with direct business impact. This is a hybrid role, working up to 2 days a week in the corporate headquarters in the vibrant Gastown area of Vancouver, BC.

Requirements

  • Proficient in account or vendor management, preferably in an ecommerce or retail environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop a high-performing team.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee resources, staffing, and budgets to support the development of high-performing account management and vendor success teams.
  • Provide mentorship and ongoing feedback to team members, including regular performance reviews.
  • Work alongside the Leadership team to create strategies and roadmaps that support business objectives.
  • Contribute to the development of strategies and methodologies to optimize business processes.
  • Lead the account management team, including portfolio allocation, training, and coaching of team members.
  • Lead the onboarding and business development teams.
  • Develop strategies that will support category expansion, new vendor acquisition, and vendor onboarding.
  • Own vendor accounts (new and existing) and management framework.
  • Define and implement vendor management standards, including cross-functional communication, response times, and SLAs.
  • Develop and execute vendor-level growth plans, including business development, vendor strategy, and program execution.
  • Negotiate and create roadmaps for successful rebate agreement, pricing/exclusivity agreement, vendor agreement and promotional programs.
  • Partner with various teams, including finance, vendor operations, merchandising, marketing, and marketplaces to maximize vendor opportunities and align strategic initiatives.
  • In partnership with marketing, develop and execute promotional strategies that aligns with the retail & merchandising calendars.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance vendor operations and address escalations effectively.
  • Partner with finance and FP&A on vendor-level forecasting.
