About The Position

Direct Support Staff support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and day programs, helping them live independent and meaningful lives. The role involves building relationships, teaching life skills, and assisting with daily routines. It may be a good fit for people interested in nursing, medical supports, social work, behavior supports, or therapy, as well as anyone who wants to help others.

No prior experience is necessary, and paid training is provided. The position offers full-time (30+ hours) or part-time employment. Morning, day, evening, overnight, and on-call shifts are available depending on location. Pay is $16–$17 per hour. A $250 sign-on bonus is offered upon completion of training. Voluntary benefits are available to full-time employees, and ongoing training and development are provided.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in group home settings or long-term care is a plus, but not required.
• Basic knowledge of first aid and safety protocols is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
• Provide compassionate care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a group home setting.
• Observe and report changes in individuals’ behavior or health status.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents.
• Foster effective communication and build positive relationships with individuals and their families.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality care.
