About The Position

Direct Support Staff (DSP) support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living independent, meaningful lives in their own homes and day programs. The role involves building relationships, teaching life skills, assisting with daily routines, and providing compassionate care in a group home setting. It may be a good fit for people interested in nursing, medical supports, social work, behavior supports, or therapy, as well as anyone who wants to help others. No prior experience is necessary; paid training is provided. Full-time (30+ hours) and part-time employment are available, with morning, day, evening, overnight, and on-call shifts depending on location.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in group home settings or long-term care; not required.
• Basic knowledge of first aid and safety protocols is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
• Provide compassionate care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a group home setting.
• Observe and report changes in individuals’ behavior or health status.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents.
• Foster effective communication and positive relationships with individuals and their families.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality care.
