About The Position

BAYADA Home Health Care is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including Autism, Down syndrome, and Cerebral Palsy. The role involves providing one-on-one support in clients’ homes and communities, building trust, encouraging independence, and helping each person develop confidence and life skills. DSPs act as mentors and advocates, supporting clients to live life on their own terms.

The position offers PRN scheduling with a variety of shifts and locations, starting pay of $18 per hour, and the aim of placing staff within 30 minutes of home. Mileage reimbursement options are available. BAYADA provides paid training, growth opportunities, and ongoing support, including 24/7 clinical support.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• High school diploma or equivalent; applicants must be at least 18 years old.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts and locations.
• Reliable transportation and ability to drive clients to activities.
• Willingness to travel between clients within the assigned area.

Responsibilities

• Support daily routines, including dressing, grooming, and personal care.
• Accompany clients to appointments, errands, and community outings.
• Engage clients in hobbies, activities, and meaningful social interaction.
• Assist with daily living tasks, including meal preparation.
• Help individuals stay active, connected, and engaged in their communities.
• Drive clients to activities and travel between clients within the assigned area.
