About The Position

Dungarvin is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to individuals with mental, intellectual and developmental, and physical disabilities. The role aims to empower individuals to live as independently and comfortably as possible while maintaining their dignity and respect. The position involves providing hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance; promoting comfort, safety, and personal growth; and assisting with daily living tasks such as mobility, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, toileting, and personal hygiene.

The role is identified as an Albanian interpreter position. Fluency in Albanian and the ability to translate for the individual are preferred; understanding different dialects and slurred speech is also preferred. A variety of schedules are available. Starting pay is $19 per hour and is open to discussion. Paid training is provided, including hands-on experience for candidates who meet the basic job requirements but have no prior experience.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Hold a valid driver's license because the role involves transporting people served.
• Complete a successful background clearance as part of onboarding and employment.
• Have reading, writing, and communication skills sufficient to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with team members.
• Have computer skills for documentation.
• Be person-centered, patient, and kind; dependable, adaptable, flexible, observant, and detail-oriented; and able to serve as a positive role model and work on a team.
• Be committed to creating a respectful and collaborative environment.

Nice To Haves

• Fluency in Albanian and ability to translate for the individual.
• Ability to understand different Albanian dialects and slurred speech.
• Personal vehicle and auto-liability insurance may be required for some positions or locations.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to individuals with disabilities.
