About The Position

A Direct Support Professional (DSP) caregiver provides direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to individuals with mental, intellectual and developmental, and physical disabilities. The role aims to empower individuals to live as independently and comfortably as possible while maintaining their dignity and respect.

The position involves providing hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance, while supporting the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the individuals served. This includes helping with daily living tasks such as mobility, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, toileting, and personal hygiene. The role requires strong communication and documentation skills, and collaboration with internal and external team members. Albanian fluency and ability to translate for the individual are preferred; the ability to understand different dialects and slurred speech is also preferred.

A variety of schedules are available. Paid training and hands-on experience are provided for candidates who meet the basic job requirements.

Requirements

• Be 18 years of age or older.
• Have a valid driver's license due to transporting persons served.
• Complete a successful background clearance as part of onboarding and employment.
• Have computer skills for documentation.
• Have reading, writing, and communication skills to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with team members.

Nice To Haves

• Fluency in Albanian and ability to translate for the individual.

Responsibilities
