Direct Support Professional PL-TS
About The Position
Indera is seeking a Direct Support Professional for a 1:1 Part-Time Support Staff position in Baldwinsville, NY. The role involves assisting a 29-year-old man with finding and participating in activities, as he currently spends most of his time at home. The individual enjoys puzzles, bike riding, games, trampoline use, reading, and neighborhood walks. The ideal candidate will communicate using physical gestures, sounds, and an iPad, and should be creative, engaging, active, and patient. The position also requires providing personal care. Additional hours may be available with other individuals served by the agency.
Requirements
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Effective communication and organizational skills required
- Flexibility with assignments and schedule required
- Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by Indera's technology policy
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred
