Direct Support Professional (Lawrenceburg Area)
About The Position
New Horizons is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in reaching their individual goals. The role may involve supporting clients with household management, physical needs, and participation in community activities. Household tasks may include meal preparation, laundry, cleaning, and decorating; physical support may include grooming or eating; and community support may include events, hobbies, and recreational activities. The position uses 12-hour shifts and requires a weekend rotation. Overtime is available. Paid training is provided, and no experience is required.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Complete required training, including First Aid/CPR certification.
- Drug test and TB test required.
- Background report and driving record required.
- Weekend rotation required.
Responsibilities
- Assist adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in reaching their individual goals.
- Help clients with household management tasks such as meal preparation, laundry, cleaning, and decorating.
- Assist clients with physical needs such as grooming or eating.
