Direct Support Professional Beaverton Area
About The Position
Out of the Box Solutions is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in the Beaverton area to provide one-on-one support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The work is person-centered and designed to support each individual’s independence, dignity, daily routines, community involvement, and personal goals. For the listed client, the schedule is Wednesday through Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 or 7:00 p.m., with some weekend availability. The client enjoys shopping, especially at Build-A-Bear, and would like to build social connections and visit friends regularly. Support includes maintaining the client’s current level of independence, helping them live away from their closest natural support, and working toward their goals and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs).
Requirements
- At least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of caregiving or related experience.
- Valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation.
- Smartphone required.
- Must pass all state-required background checks and meet ODDS employment eligibility requirements.
- CPR/First Aid/AED certification, or willingness to obtain it.
- Dependable, with a positive attitude and flexible mindset.
- Strong communication skills.
- Comfortable working independently.
Nice To Haves
- CNA or equivalent experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Support daily routines, including cooking, cleaning, and personal care with the client.
- Help clients access the community and remain engaged.
- Follow care plans and goals.
- Communicate with families and the team.
- Complete notes and documentation.
- Ensure safety and well-being at all times.
- Support the listed client’s independence, goals, IADLs, and social engagement.
