As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you'll help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities live independently, safely, and fully engaged in their communities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Compassionate, patient, and dependable
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening
  • CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
  • Medication Administration certification or willingness to obtain
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of developmental disabilities and related healthcare needs.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
  • Ability to lift and assist individuals with mobility needs as required.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if applicable).
  • Ability to complete and pass a background check per company standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous DSP or caregiving experience is helpful but not required
  • Prior experience in direct care or support roles (preferred but not required).

Responsibilities

  • Helping individuals participate in community outings, events, and recreational activities
  • Supporting personal goals and celebrating achievements
  • Assisting with daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, and personal care
  • Encouraging independence and confidence
  • Building genuine friendships and positive relationships
  • Providing transportation to appointments, activities, and community events
  • Documenting daily activities and progress
  • Working alongside families and support teams to create the best possible outcomes
  • Ability to lift and assist individuals with mobility needs as required.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
