Direct Support Professional / One on One / DSP / Caregiver / Benson
About The Position
We are hiring Direct Support Professionals for One-on-One services at the vocational center. This role provides support for individuals and/or groups of persons with disabilities in residential and community settings. The Direct Support Professional implements services and supports to address the person’s goals identified through each person’s Individual Support Plan. They assist the person(s) receiving services in identifying and communicating his or her requests and needs for services and supports, relying on supervision and direction from the Community Services Coordinator to accomplish assigned tasks. This is a regular position with varying shifts and schedules available throughout the week, including weekends.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- Valid driver's license
- Liability Insurance
- Own transportation for transport (mileage paid)
- Regularly required to lift 30 lbs.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 70 lbs.
- Must be able to pull a minimum of 50lbs.
- Must be able to squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stop.
- Must be able to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Required to regularly stand and walk.
- Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in CPR from the floor level requiring to work on hands, knees, bending, standing and lifting.
- Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
- Complete criminal background check
- Name checked in the registries (OIG exclusions database, Child Abuse Registry, and Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities)
- Drug testing
- Education verification and other credentialing based on position requirements.
- Proof of employment history or references (if required)
- Proof of driver's license, driver's insurance, and vehicle, IF required for providing transportation for individuals.
