About The Position
Arc GLOW is hiring Direct Support Professionals to provide daily support to people with developmental, intellectual, and/or physical disabilities in a home setting. DSPs work as part of a team to support personal care, daily living skills, individualized goals, activities, community inclusion, and outings. They document program data, use software platforms for job functions, prepare meals, and provide transportation as needed using agency vehicles. Per diem opportunities are available. The schedule includes daytime hours between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with some evenings for staff meetings and training. Starting pay is $19.25 per hour. Arc GLOW provides paid training and opportunities for career growth and advancement.
Requirements
- Valid New York State driver's license with an acceptable driving record under agency policy.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Physical ability to transfer and lift people with mobility restraints.
- Motivation to help others with personal goals and work in a team environment.
- Ability to use a computer efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care to people with developmental, intellectual, and/or physical disabilities.
- Assist and encourage people supported with immediate personal needs and daily living skills.
- Assist with planning daily activities and participate in small-group activities.
- Support community inclusion, including social events, volunteering, and skill-building opportunities.
- Document program data accurately and promptly.
- Provide transportation as needed using agency vehicles.
- Use software platforms for specific job functions.
- Prepare meals.
