Direct Support Professional EE-JC
About The Position
A 14-year-old male in the Syracuse area is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist him with various life skills and community engagement activities. The role involves helping him initiate conversations, become more social, manage a budget, create grocery lists, and research community activities. The individual enjoys food (especially rice and corn), outdoor play, collecting bottles for recycling, trucks, and basketball. The ideal candidate will support him in exploring new activities and places, recognizing that he is shy but open to new experiences. This is a part-time position with the potential for additional hours supporting other individuals at the agency.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to work independently in the person’s home and/or community.
- Reliable with effective communication and organizational skills.
- New York State Driver's license.
- Reliable transportation.
- Proof of auto insurance.
- Acceptable driving record.
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with people with disabilities preferred.
Responsibilities
