About The Position

Empowered Services provides one-on-one, in-home and community-based support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The company is hiring an entry-level Direct Support Professional to provide consistent, structured care for individuals of all ages. No prior DSP experience is required, and paid training is provided. The role supports daily routines and household structure, community-based activities and errands, independence, behavioral support, emotional regulation, and crisis support. The posting describes customer schedules that may include weekday afternoon shifts with alternating weekend shifts, or weekday early-morning shifts.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Current auto insurance meeting state requirements.
• Ability to pass a background check; not all records are disqualifying.
• Comfortable supporting personal care needs.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in caregiving, DSP, behavioral support, or IDD roles.
• Experience supporting individuals with I/DD.
• Strong communication and boundary-setting skills.
• CPR/First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Support daily living routines, including meals, hygiene, and organization.
• Assist with community access, including shopping, errands, and outings.
• Provide emotional regulation support using calm, structured approaches.
• Maintain clear boundaries and consistent expectations.
• Assist with household upkeep and organization.
• Encourage independence and personal responsibility.
• Communicate updates with care teams and complete required documentation.
• Help maintain a safe, predictable, and respectful environment.
