About The Position

Empowered Services is hiring an entry-level Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide one-on-one in-home and community-based support for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Current auto insurance meeting state requirements.
• Ability to pass a background check; not all records are disqualifying.
• Comfort supporting personal care needs.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in caregiving, DSP, behavioral support, or IDD roles.
• Experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
• Strong communication and boundary-setting skills.
• CPR/First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Support daily living routines, including meals, hygiene, and organization.
• Assist with community access, including shopping, errands, outings, and activities.
• Provide emotional-regulation support using calm, structured approaches.
• Maintain clear boundaries and consistent expectations.
• Assist with household upkeep and organization.
• Encourage independence and personal responsibility.
• Communicate updates with care teams and complete required documentation.
• Help maintain a safe, predictable, and respectful environment.
• Provide personal care support as needed.
