About The Position
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will work directly with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), helping them build independence, participate in their community, achieve personal goals, and live meaningful, fulfilling lives. Requirements
- Dependable and able to report to scheduled shifts consistently
- Compassionate, patient, and respectful
- Comfortable working directly with adults with IDD
- Able to follow written plans, policies, and supervisory direction
- Able to complete required electronic documentation
- Willing to complete required training
- Able to work independently while also being part of a team
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working with individuals with IDD is preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized support based on each person's needs and goals
- Assist with activities of daily living and personal care as needed
- Support individuals in developing independent living skills
- Participate in community outings, activities, and appointments
- Assist with meal preparation and household responsibilities
- Follow medication-management procedures as trained and authorized
- Complete required daily documentation accurately and on time
- Follow individual support plans, health and safety protocols, and Mandala Community policies
- Promote dignity, choice, independence, inclusion, and respect
- Communicate professionally with individuals, guardians, coworkers, supervisors, and other members of the support team
