About The Position

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at LSS, you will provide person-centered support to people with identified needs as they pursue their hopes, dreams, and goals. The role is based in a residential group home setting supporting up to four people, and involves assisting with daily living, health and well-being, community participation, and independent living skills. The position is part-time, primarily working afternoon shifts from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Pay is $16.00 per hour, with an opportunity to increase to $16.50 per hour after six months of consistent employment. A $2,500 hiring bonus is available to eligible team members who meet the stated requirements. LSS provides paid orientation and ongoing training, and offers opportunities to grow within its more than 20 services. Requirements

Genuine interest in helping others and supporting people with identified needs through person-centered care.
No prior experience or formal education is required; training and support are provided.
Comfort with basic computer use for documenting care and communicating with the team.
Ability to read and write in English.
Valid driver’s license and safe driving record, and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Check.
Ability to pass a DHS background check.
To qualify for the hiring bonus: work at least 40% FTE, remain current on all trainings, maintain employment in good standing, and work all scheduled shifts.

Responsibilities

Build meaningful relationships while providing guidance, encouragement, and support.
Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, hygiene, meals, household support and cleaning, and transportation.
Support community involvement, social connections, and independent living skills.
Advocate for the rights, needs, and preferences of people with identified needs.
Monitor health and well-being and report changes as needed.
Complete required documentation and participate in training and team meetings.
