About The Position

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at LSS, you’ll support people with identified needs as they pursue their hopes, dreams, and goals through person-centered care. The position pays $20.00 per hour, with an opportunity to increase to $20.50 per hour after six months of consistent employment. A $1,000 hiring bonus is available to eligible team members who work at least 40% FTE, remain current on required trainings, maintain employment in good standing, and work all scheduled shifts. The role is based in a residential group home supporting up to four people with identified needs. You’ll work with a collaborative, mission-driven team focused on dignity, respect, and inclusion. No prior experience or formal education is required; LSS provides training and support.

Requirements

A genuine passion for helping and supporting people with identified needs through person-centered care.
Comfort with basic computer use for documenting care and staying connected with the team.
Ability to read and write in English.
A valid driver’s license and safe driving record, and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Check.
Ability to pass a DHS background check.
To qualify for the hiring bonus: work at least 40% FTE, remain up to date on all trainings, maintain employment in good standing, and work all scheduled shifts.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Build meaningful relationships and provide guidance, encouragement, and support.
Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, hygiene, meals, household support and cleaning, and transportation.
Support community involvement, social connections, and independent living skills.
Advocate for the rights, needs, and preferences of people with identified needs.
Monitor health and well-being and report changes as needed.
Complete required documentation and participate in training and team meetings.
