About The Position

Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and caregivers support individuals with developmental disabilities and empower them to live as independently as possible. The role involves assisting with daily activities and personal goals, accompanying individuals in the community, and participating in recreational and social activities. The position is in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, with a schedule of Monday 3 p.m.–10 p.m., Wednesday 3 p.m.–9 p.m., and every other Saturday and Sunday 3 p.m.–10 p.m.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have an active driver's license in good standing and a good driving record.
• Must be willing and able to pass a background check.
• Must be willing to complete an Adult CPR and First Aid course if not already certified.
• Must embody patience, kindness, and a servant's heart and hands.
• Must be able to lift, push, and pull at least 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Existing Adult CPR and First Aid training.

Responsibilities

• Help residents with dining, mobility, health, and hygiene activities.
• Accompany individuals while they run errands.
• Attend community occasions and activities such as outdoor walks, games, and social events.
• Assist individuals in achieving their personal goals and desires.
