Residential Support Staff
About The Position
Merakey is hiring compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professionals to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Johnstown/Westmont, Pennsylvania. The role focuses on helping people build independence, develop social and communication skills, and navigate daily living activities. Staff may serve as mentors, coaches, and advocates, supporting individuals’ personal goals and participating in activities such as community outings. No prior experience is required; paid training is provided. The listed schedule alternates between two weeks of shifts. Pay can be up to $20.25 per hour with the election of the Enhanced Pay option and House Differential.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and support with activities of daily living.
- Assist with personal care, hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation.
- Support the development of life skills, including household tasks and social skills.
- Provide community support and transportation.
- Promote health, safety, and well-being, including medication support after training.
- Complete required documentation, progress notes, and service logs.
- Support individuals with independence, social and communication skills, daily living activities, and personal goals.
