About The Position

Merakey is hiring a compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professional to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Portage, Pennsylvania. The role focuses on helping individuals build independence, develop social and communication skills, and manage daily living activities, personal care, housekeeping, and community engagement. Staff may also serve as mentors, coaches, and advocates. No experience is required; paid training is provided. The position is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., with rotating weekends. Pay is up to $18.75 per hour with election of the Enhanced Pay option.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Assist with personal care, hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation.
• Support life skills development, including household tasks and social skills.
• Provide community support and transportation.
• Promote health, safety, and well-being, including medication support as trained.
• Complete required documentation, progress notes, and service logs.
• Help individuals build independence and develop social and communication skills.
• Support individuals in pursuing personal goals and participating in community engagement.
