About The Position

Merakey is seeking a compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Portage, Pennsylvania. The DSP helps individuals build independence, develop social and communication skills, and participate in daily living activities and community life. The role includes serving as a mentor, coach, and advocate. No experience is required; paid training is provided.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Assist with personal care, hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation.
• Support the development of life skills, including household tasks and social skills.
• Provide community support and transportation.
• Promote health, safety, and well-being, including medication support after training.
• Complete required documentation, progress notes, and service logs.
