Direct Support Professional
About The Position
Merakey is seeking a mission-driven, compassionate, and reliable Direct Support Professional to work in its Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Division in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania. The role supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in building independence, developing social and communication skills, and navigating daily living activities. No experience is required; paid training is provided. The position is a third-shift role, Monday through Friday from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., with no weekends. The listed pay rate is $16.75 per hour, with an additional $2 per hour available through the Enhanced Pay option.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and support with activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Assist with personal care, hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation.
- Support life skills development, including household tasks and social skills.
- Provide community support and transportation.
- Promote health, safety, and well-being, including medication support as trained.
- Complete required documentation, progress notes, and service logs.
- Help individuals develop independence and social and communication skills, and support them in pursuing personal goals.
- Act as a mentor, coach, and advocate.
