Direct Support Professional
About The Position
Merakey is hiring a Direct Support Professional in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania, to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role focuses on helping people build independence, develop social and communication skills, and manage daily living activities. The Direct Support Professional serves as a mentor, coach, and advocate while supporting personal goals and community engagement. No prior experience is required; paid training is provided. The position offers shifts from 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., with alternating weekends. Pay is up to $18 per hour with the election of the Enhanced Pay option.
Requirements
- A verifiable high school diploma or GED.
- A current and valid driver's license.
- Must be 18 or older.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and support with activities of daily living.
- Assist with personal care, hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation.
- Support life-skills development, including household tasks and social skills.
- Provide community support and transportation.
- Promote health, safety, and well-being, including medication support as trained.
- Complete required documentation, progress notes, and service logs.
- Help individuals develop independence and social and communication skills, and support their personal goals and community engagement.
