About The Position
Merakey is hiring a Direct Support Professional in Sunbury, Pennsylvania, to work in its Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Division. The role supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in building independence, developing social and communication skills, and managing daily living activities. The DSP serves as a mentor, coach, and advocate, and may accompany individuals on community activities and outings. No experience is required; paid training is provided.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and support with activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Assist with personal care, hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation.
- Support life skills development, including household tasks and social skills.
- Provide community support and transportation.
- Promote health, safety, and well-being, including medication support as trained.
- Complete required documentation, progress notes, and service logs.
- Help individuals build independence and develop social and communication skills.
- Support individuals in pursuing personal goals and participating in community activities.
