About The Position

New Avenues to Independence is seeking a Direct Support Professional to support and empower individuals with disabilities so they can lead fulfilling lives and participate in their communities. The role provides person-centered care in settings including residential homes and day programs, and helps individuals build independence and self-determination. Pay rate: CBS: $16 per hour. Multiple shifts are available.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid Ohio driver's license with four points or fewer.
• Valid auto insurance.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Desire to make a difference in people's lives.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered care and support to individuals with disabilities in residential homes and day programs.
• Assist with daily living activities, including meal preparation, personal hygiene, and medication management.
• Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment that promotes growth, independence, and self-determination.
• Plan and participate in meaningful activities, outings, and events to enhance quality of life.
• Promote social and emotional well-being by building supportive relationships.
• Collaborate with a team of professionals to create and implement individualized care plans.
• Work alongside individuals to complete tasks and build independence.
• Support daily routines such as personal care, cooking, cleaning, shopping, and attending medical appointments.
