About The Position

New Avenues to Independence is seeking a Direct Support Professional to support and empower individuals with disabilities, helping them lead fulfilling lives and participate in their communities. The role provides person-centered support in settings such as residential homes and day programs, with a focus on growth, independence, and self-determination. The listed pay rate is $16 per hour for CBS, and multiple shifts are available.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Valid Ohio driver's license with 4 points or less.
• Valid auto insurance.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Desire to make a difference in people's lives.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered care and support to individuals with disabilities in residential homes and day programs.
• Assist with daily living activities, including meal preparation, personal hygiene, medication management, cooking, cleaning, and shopping.
• Support people in attending medical appointments and completing daily routines.
• Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment that promotes growth, independence, and self-determination.
• Plan and engage in meaningful activities, outings, and events to enhance quality of life.
• Promote social and emotional well-being by building supportive relationships.
• Collaborate with professionals to create and implement individualized care plans.
• Work alongside individuals to complete tasks and build independence.
