Direct Support Professional (DSP)- Full-Time
About The Position
Learning Services, a Collage Rehabilitation Partner, is seeking Direct Support Professionals for its residential program in Gilroy, California. The organization provides neurological rehabilitation to adults with moderate to severe traumatic and acquired brain injuries, including people with post-concussion syndrome, stroke, memory loss, neurobehavioral issues, and accident- or sports-related head injuries. This position provides clients with varying levels of assistance and supervision to support success in daily living tasks, recreational activities, and vocational pursuits. The role includes helping with personal care and hygiene, supporting therapies, and driving and accompanying clients to appointments, activities, and other outings. Candidates should be comfortable working with clients who have a range of medical complexities and behavioral challenges. The hourly rate is $21–$24, based on experience and education.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver's license and responsible driving behaviors must be maintained.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Must be comfortable working with medically complicated and behaviorally challenged clients.
Responsibilities
- Provide clients with assistance and/or supervision to promote success in daily living tasks, recreational activities, and vocational pursuits.
- Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
- Assist clients with therapies.
- Drive and accompany clients to appointments, activities, and other outings.
