About The Position

AHRC New York City is holding a HIRING EVENT for 2 Part-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for our Manhattan ICF residences. This role involves supporting neurodivergent children and adults through a broad spectrum of services. The position focuses on promoting skill development, interests, and hobbies, assisting with Adult Daily Living skills (ADLs), and other personalized responsibilities including cooking, cleaning, and hygiene. The goal is to help individuals lead full and equitable lives.

Requirements

• Weekend availability Required for most positions!
• Personal or Professional experience supporting People with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) preferred.
• Professionalism; integrity; excellent communication skills.
• Patience is a MUST!
• Willingness to support people's preferences for community, activities, work, leisure activities, the exercise of their rights etc. in various settings.
• Ability to use a computer for data entry.
• High school education/GED, highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• The oversight of all safety and health considerations
• Promoting skill development, interests, and hobbies
• Assisting with Adult Daily Living skills (ADLs)
• Other personalized responsibilities including cooking, cleaning, hygiene, etc.
