About The Position
AHRC New York City is holding a HIRING EVENT for Full -Time Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for their STATEN ISLAND Group home residences. The role involves supporting neurodivergent children and adults through a broad spectrum of services. Requirements
- Drivers License Required (for 40hr Evening Shifts)
- Weekend availability needed for most positions!
- Personal or Professional experience supporting People with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) preferred.
- Professionalism; integrity; excellent communication skills. Patience is a MUST!
- Willingness to support people's preferences for community, activities, work, leisure activities, the exercise of their rights etc. in various settings.
- Ability to use a computer for data entry.
- High school education/GED, highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- The oversight of all safety and health considerations.
- Promoting skill development, interests, and hobbies.
- Assisting with Adult Daily Living skills (ADLs)
- Other personalized responsibilities including cooking, cleaning, hygiene, etc.
