DSP HIRING EVENT - Manhattan (ICF)
About The Position
AHRC New York City is holding a HIRING EVENT for Full and Part -Time Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for our Manhattan ICF residence. The role involves supporting neurodivergent children and adults with a broad spectrum of services. The ideal candidate enjoys helping others, improving the quality of life for others, building meaningful relationships, and assisting with community inclusion. Responsibilities include oversight of safety and health, promoting skill development, assisting with Adult Daily Living skills (ADLs), and other personalized responsibilities such as cooking, cleaning, and hygiene.
Requirements
- Professionalism; integrity; excellent communication skills.
- Patience is a MUST!
- Willingness to support people's preferences for community, activities, work, leisure activities, the exercise of their rights etc. in various settings.
- Ability to use a computer for data entry.
- Driver's license REQUIRED for 40hr Evening shift (2pm-10pm)
- Driver's license NOT required for 30hr Weekend Overnight shift (10pm-8am Friday night - Sunday night)
- Weekend availability Required for most positions!
Nice To Haves
- Personal or Professional experience supporting People with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) preferred.
- High school education/GED, highly preferred.
