About The Position

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at Jay Nolan Community Services (JNCS), you support individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities to live quality lives with dignity, independence, and choice. You help people build relationships, live safely in their own homes, and pursue personal, educational, and career goals. DSPs empower individuals to do things for themselves and live more independently, rather than doing tasks for them. The role provides one-to-one support in an individual’s home and community. Typical activities may include accompanying clients to hobby groups, classes, the gym, errands, and medical appointments; helping with household chores and schedules; taking neighborhood walks; providing companionship and emotional support; and helping clients connect with friends and loved ones. Wheelchair transfers and personal hygiene assistance may be applicable. JNCS is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides individualized support to children, teens, and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities so they can live, work, and thrive in their own homes and communities.
