About The Position
Redwood Family Care Network is hiring a full-time Direct Support Professional in San Diego, California. The role supports individuals with developmental disabilities by promoting their health, safety, and well-being, and advocating for an improved quality of life. The work location is San Diego, CA 92121, and the position is not remote. The stated schedule is 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Friday through Monday. The hourly rate is $20.00–$22.00. The Direct Support Professional helps clients follow daily routines outlined in their Individual Program Plans, assists with personal care and meals, and may transport clients in company vans. The role requires working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and lifting up to 30 pounds. Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have a California driver’s license.
- Must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including a background check.
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Nice To Haves
- Direct Support Professional Certificate Year 1 and Year 2, or willingness to obtain them within the first two years of hire.
- First Aid/CPR and CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification, or willingness to obtain them.
Responsibilities
- Outline and prepare clients’ daily visual and active routines as written in their Individual Program Plans.
- Assist clients with bathroom needs.
- Change clients’ undergarments and/or clothing when needed.
- Prepare daily meals and assist with cleanup.
- Pick up and drop off clients between their homes and the facility in company vans, if necessary.
- Advocate for clients and support their health, safety, well-being, and quality of life.
