About The Position

Indera is seeking a part-time Direct Support Professional to provide 1:1 community support to a 22-year-old male in the Liverpool, New York area. The individual enjoys outdoor activities and walks, riding his adaptive bike, swimming, bowling, music, SpongeBob, watching planes at the airport, and shopping at Dollar Tree. The role involves accompanying him to community locations and supporting his independence and quality of life.

The ideal candidate is active, patient, observant, engaging, and attentive; is willing to travel to different locations; can provide personal care when needed; can redirect behaviors and responses and support regulation; and is physically able to run. The position is 5 hours per month, with the possibility of additional hours supporting other individuals served by the agency. Available times are Fridays, Saturdays, and Tuesdays after 11 a.m.; Mondays after 2 p.m.; Wednesdays after 3 p.m.; and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Starting pay is $17.50 per hour and increases with years of relevant experience.

Requirements

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Effective communication and organizational skills.
• Flexibility with assignments and schedule.
• Reliable transportation to arrive at the job site at the scheduled time.
• Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by Indera's technology policy.
• Must be active and able to run.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities is preferred.

Responsibilities
