About The Position

Merakey is seeking compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professionals in Altoona, Pennsylvania, to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role helps people build independence, develop social and communication skills, and navigate daily living activities. No experience is required; paid training is provided. The position is PRN, with a listed pay rate of $17 per hour and daylight, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts available.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support with activities of daily living.
• Assist with personal care, hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation.
• Support life skills development, including household tasks and social skills.
• Provide community support and transportation.
• Promote health, safety, and well-being, including medication support when trained.
• Complete required documentation, progress notes, and service logs.
• Help individuals pursue personal goals and participate in daily living and community activities.
