About The Position

Brightway Living & Learning is a nonprofit human services provider on Long Island, supporting children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities through educational, residential, day habilitation, and vocational programs. As a Direct Support Professional in Adult Day Services, you will support individuals with disabilities in their daily lives, assist with daily living activities, foster independence, promote well-being, and help individuals connect with their communities. The role is part-time, hourly, and not benefits eligible. The listed pay is $21.00–$23.10 per hour. A valid New York State driver's license held for at least 18 months, a clean driving history, and successful completion of Brightway's Transportation Orientation are required for the listed rate. New hires who do not meet these criteria will be offered a lower starting rate of $19.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

Provide individualized support with personal care, meal preparation, transportation, and community outings.

Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating empathy and patience.
Collaborate with DSPs, supervisors, and families.
