Direct Support Professional
About The Position
Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a part-time Direct Support Professional to join its Individual and Community Services team in Wilmington, North Carolina. The role supports individuals in their homes and local communities, helping them build independence, work toward personal goals, and participate in meaningful experiences. The organization matches consumers with team members based on skills, personality, and interests to foster strong relationships and rewarding support. The position is on-site, with work in consumers’ homes and travel within the local community. Openings are available on weekdays and weekends for day shifts. Pay is $15 per hour.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid North Carolina driver’s license, reliable transportation, and vehicle insurance.
- Interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and dependability.

- Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Support the consumer with personal care needs and companionship.
- Document daily activities and goals met in an electronic format.
- Coordinate and collaborate with the consumer’s family on goals that promote independence, socialization, and overall personal development.
