About The Position
Merakey is hiring a compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professional for its Home and Community Division in Industry, Pennsylvania. The role supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them build independence, develop social and communication skills, and participate in daily living activities and community engagement. The position may suit experienced caregivers and direct care workers as well as people beginning a career in human services. No experience is required, and paid training is provided.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- No prior experience is required; paid training is provided.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and support with activities of daily living.
- Assist with personal care, hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation.
- Support development of life skills, including household tasks and social skills.
- Provide community support and transportation.
- Promote health, safety, and well-being, including medication support as trained.
- Complete required documentation, progress notes, and service logs.
- Help individuals work toward personal goals and build independence.
