About The Position

The Direct Support Professional provides quality care, direction, guidance, and assistance to customers with daily activities, including bathing and bathroom functions, feeding, menu planning, dressing, grooming, medication, treatments, and housework. The role supports customers in making and keeping appointments, arranging transportation and running errands, and provides companionship. The professional helps customers achieve agreed-upon goals to improve their quality of life and integration into the community. They document each shift’s activities in an online platform and observe customers and their surroundings to support safety and success, including monitoring equipment and materials. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Understand and endorse ICM’s mission and vision.
• Follow ICM policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures, and ask for clarification when needed.
• Understand and comply with HIPAA regulations.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
• Maintain prompt and regular attendance.

Responsibilities

• Help customers make and keep appointments.
• Provide or arrange transportation for errands and serve as a companion.
• Help customers achieve agreed-upon goals that improve quality of life and community integration.
• Provide written daily updates of each shift’s activities using an online platform.
• Observe customers’ conditions and monitor surroundings, equipment, and materials to support customer safety and success.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
