About The Position

Become a Direct Support Professional with Skill Creations, Inc., a nonprofit agency helping people with disabilities live their best lives. The DSP works in the individual's home as well as in a community setting, providing care according to their specific needs and goals. This role involves providing weekend support to a college student who enjoys video games, chess, and riding his adaptive bike. Activities may include walking his dog, going out for lunch or dessert, and assisting with physical therapy exercises.

Requirements

High School, GED, or College Transcript.
Valid NC Driver's license and acceptable Driving Record.
Personal vehicle for transporting client.
Ability to remain on one's feet most of the time.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Ability to occasionally balance, bend, stoop, and kneel.
Prompt and regular attendance.
Completion of paid training in CPR/First Aid and Behavior Management.
Basic computer skills for e-mail, electronic training modules, and data recording.
Personal phone with internet access.
Ability to meet client-specific needs.

Responsibilities

Provide weekend support to a college student.
