About The Position

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides support and care to individuals living in Skill Creations, Inc. facilities who have needs related to physical or medical care, behavioral support, cognitive support, and independent living. Care is tailored to each individual’s specific needs and includes assistance and education with personal care, medication administration, and independent living skills. DSPs also transport or accompany individuals to community activities and local or out-of-town appointments. Full- and part-time residential DSP positions start at $17.60 per hour. Back-up and PRN positions, including fill-in positions across all three shifts, pay $17.00 per hour. Full-time employees are scheduled for 30 or more hours per week and are offered a competitive benefits package. Requirements

High school diploma or GED from an accredited school.
Criminal record check.
Prompt and regular attendance for the assigned work schedule, including work during inclement weather and some holidays.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Basic computer skills for email, electronic training modules, and recording data.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Ability to balance, bend, stoop, and kneel occasionally.
Ability to be on their feet most of the time.

Responsibilities

Provide care and support according to individuals’ specific physical, medical, behavioral, cognitive, and independent-living needs.
Assist and educate individuals with personal care, medication administration, and independent living skills.
Transport or accompany individuals to community activities and local or out-of-town appointments.
Complete required CPR/First Aid and Behavior Management coursework.
